WHO IS JON COON?
In 2009, Roche managed the “WHOISJONCOON?” campaign at the University of San Francisco. The campaign was for ASUSF President candidate Jon Coon. The campaign implemented new forms of social media, marketing, and advertising in order to bring out new faces to the polls as well as showcase a different perspective for a campaign. For an in depth break down of the campaign scroll down.
- Concept:
With previous ASUSF elections only bringing out a mere 10% of the student body, Roche brought a team of students and inspiring artists together to bring a fresh new perspective to the ASUSF elections. The campaign slogan, “Who Is Jon Coon?” defined Jon Coon not only as a candidate but also as an involved student with an outstanding local network. An in depth website was created in order to direct voters to an outlet where they would be able to contact, understand, and socialize with Coon. On a daily basis, www.whoisjoncoon.com received upwards of 200 unique hits. Utilizing new social media outlets Facebook.com, Twitter.com, as well as personal blogs and videos, the WHOISJONCOON? campaign re-defined how voters received their information regarding candidates.
